With the volume control stacked on the top of the on/off switch, I had to carefully disassemble and change the resistor plate in the volume control from 250K to 1meg. Also, I prefer 6V6's, and took out the 6AQ5's. I didn't desecrate the faceplate, I made a new one. I changed my musicmaster to a standard Fender front end with a 1meg volume, 250K treble and 250K bass control between V1A and V1B. I was stuck with them too much in the 60's.

I am sure of one thing though, someone here does. What resistors etc are needed for such a thing I don't know. The tweed tone stack may add the highs back but not scoop the mids. The bass amps probably rolled off the highs with an appropriate resistor or two. Then, I think, came the blackface circuits with scooped mids and so on. What I think is that the tweed amps had a fat midrange, which probably was viewed as muddy back in the day by some players. Me, I'd be better off trying to translate Sanskrit. I'd say the Fender Field Amp Guide and a study of schematics there would be useful if you can read that language.
